The Washerman and his Donkey – Moral story for kids

Written by Vikk

There was a washer/dhobi in a remote village. Dhobi went home every day and took people’s dirty clothes to wash them. Dhobi had a donkey on which he used to take the clothes and bring them. The donkey was now old enough to be so weak.

One day the same donkey was carrying Dhobi clothes in the afternoon. Both the donkey and the washer were bad because of the heat. Suddenly the feet of the donkey fell and the poor donkey got into a big hole. The donkey poor was weak, yet he put the whole force but did not get out of the pit. Dhobi also tried his best but the donkey was unable to get out because of the deep hole.
Now the donkey began to shout badly with fear. When Dhobi was tired of trying, he thought that this donkey has become old and now there is no work, then there is no use to pull him out, why not fill the pit with soil and buried this donkeyhere. With this thought, Dhobi spoke to the people of the village. All the people came with their shovel. Together they started putting the soil in the pit quickly.

At first, the donkey did not understand what was happening to it. But when he realized that these people are going to bury him, his eyes came in tears. The donkey continued to scream for a while and later stopped shouting. All the people started fastly filling in the pit.

After a while, when Dhobi caught sight of the pit, he was surprised. The donkey was doing some strange things.

As soon as someone puts a clay on the back of a donkey, the donkey immediately shakes his back and then slows it down into the pit and himself gets one step up. The same sequence continued as soon as the mud was put on the back of the donkey, it shook the ground and shook the soil down and went up one step above the clay itself.

Slowly the puddle was filled with soil and the donkey jumped out of the pit and all the people were watching the donkey with surprise.

Friends These stories teach us a lot. Life also pours soil over us many times, many times big problems come to the public. But this is the way to get out of the well of life, drop your troublesome soil and move up one step every time.

How big is your problem? How deep can the crater be? Do not panic, hurry down every trouble like a fire, and then you will come out of every problem.
